    Marumi EXUS UV Mark II

The Marumi EXUS UV Mark II is an upgraded flagship UV protection filter, designed for constant use on the lens.

    • Surface reflection reduced to below 0.2%, down from 0.3% on the previous model (420-680nm average, Typical Value)*
    • Corning® UV Clear Glass; Corning is a registered trademark of Corning Incorporated (Corning, N.Y., USA)
    • Advanced coating with twenty-two layers total on both sides
    • Anti-Static Coating (ASC) prevents dust and dirt adhesion, allowing them to be easily blown off
    • High transmittance of 99.1% (420-680nm average, Typical Value)*, with UV Sharp Cut at 410nm
    • Water- and oil-repellent coating repels water with just an air blower. Sweat, lotion, fingerprints, and grease wipe off effortlessly
    • Glass thickness of 2.0mm enables enhanced lens protection, while simultaneously realizing a thin frame to avoid vignetting
    • Knurling enables easy and smooth handling, embedded in the lightweight and thin aluminum frame
    • Made in Japan with exceptional optical precision and performance

*Verified by factory spectrophotometer measurements. Details review in "TECHNICAL DATA".

    Anti-Static Coating (ASC)

The defining feature of the EXUS series is its exceptional Anti-Static Coating (ASC). Unlike standard filters, ASC actively repels dust on the filter surface through proven antistatic properties.

What is the benefit of using a UV filter?
Does it affect image quality? Why UV instead of Lens Protector?

A UV (Ultraviolet) filter protects your delicate camera lens from environmental UV haze and glare—while delivering the highest image contrast and sharpness, without compromising optical performance.

Many photographers use Lens Protectors primarily for physical protection. However, Lens Protectors are designed basically for mechanical shock absorption. They provide some optical protection through their optical glass performance and embedded coatings, but this is secondary to their primary function.

If your goal is optical clarity against environmental haze and UV degradation, a UV filter is essential. Physical protection is valuable, but UV filters uniquely deliver both superior UV blocking and comprehensive lens protection when permanently attached to the lens.

    TYPICAL VALUES IN DETAILS

    *REFLECTANCE VALUES

    • Typically <0.2% (420-680nm, Average)
      Verified by factory spectrophotometer measurements.

    *TRANSMITTANCE VALUES

    • 99.7% Peak Value (Single-wavelength maximum)
    • 99.1% Typical Value (420-680nm, Average)
    • 95.2% Typical Value (400-700nm, Average) **
      Verified by factory spectrophotometer measurements.

**The Corning® UV Clear Glass sharply cuts UV rays below 410nm, naturally lowering transmittance in the 400–700 nm range—a result of precise UV suppression.

    EXUS UV Mark II

    Question:
Why EXUS UV Mark II effectively cuts UV haze, but the transmittance is lower than other UV filters in the market?

    Answer:
Most UV filters cut UV at lower wavelengths (370-390nm), allowing more light through (higher transmittance) but less effective haze reduction. EXUS UV Mark II uses Corning® UV Clear Glass with sharp cut at 410nm below—precisely blocking UV that causes haze/glare, while preserving visible light clarity.

    Result:
    - 400-700nm: 95.2% (lower due to precise UV suppression)
    - 420-680nm: 99.1% (excellent visible light transmission)
