SOLAR ECLIPSE ON AUGUST 12, 2026 ACROSS EUROPE

on October 10, 2025

Who can observe these moments?

The following valuable information is quoted from "timeanddate.com". Check out if you are eligible to observe these monumental events.

This is the first time in decades that a total solar eclipse will cross mainland Spain and Iceland, following major eclipse events in North America in 2017 and 2024.
The narrow path of totality—where the Moon completely covers the Sun—will pass through Spain and Iceland, offering spectacular viewing experiences at key locations, such as A Coruña, Zaragoza, Valencia, Bilbao, and Reykjavik.

Madrid and Barcelona will experience a deep partial solar eclipse, with more than 99% of the Sun covered. However, by traveling to the outskirts or nearby locations that lie within the path of totality, observers can witness the full total solar eclipse.

Moreover, a partial eclipse will be visible across most major European cities, such as London, Paris, and Berlin. Even outside the path of totality, millions throughout Europe will have the chance to observe this rare phenomenon.

I really enjoy my Marumi filter DHG ND-100000 and its advanced successor, EXUS ND100000(5.0) for solar observation and photography. The results are very impressive. As the solar activity is increasing again, your filter becomes more and more interesting!

Observations and Findings by Dr. Willemin

The Marumi EXUS ND100000 provided excellent contrast and nearly neutral colors, showcasing a significant improvement over metallic filters about the Stehl ratio. The Schott B270i glass's optical quality was highlighted, suggesting a superior viewing experience for solar observation.

The limb darkening of the sun is fully normal, and this filter is revealing it perfectly.

He highly recommends the Marumi EXUS ND100000 for observing the partial phases of a solar eclipse. Its ability to deliver high-quality images with accurate color rendition and contrast makes it an ideal choice for both seasoned astronomers and beginners looking to safely enjoy the eclipse.
